Oldtown Farmhouse is a spacious and friendly bed and breakfast with a high standard of accommodation where you are assured of a warm welcome. It is situated on an elevated site with scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Located off the N10 Kilkenny to Waterford road and just 10 minutes drive from the medieval City of Kilkenny and 1km from Mount Juliet Golf Course. Oldtown Farmhouse comprises of four spacious en suite bedrooms with television, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms. There is a lounge for guests to relax and unwind after a days touring. Refreshments with home baking will greet you upon arrival. Oldtown Farmhouse is on a family farm with an award winning propagation nursery which exports plants to 15 countries around the world as far away as America, Japan and also continental Europe and the home market. There is an ancient ring fort on the farmland dating back 1700 - 2000 years. Initial observations would suggest it was built and lived in by an ancient Gaelic Chieftain. For any guests who are interested we would be delighted to give a complimentary tour of the nursery and the ring fort and also tell you the local history.
How to get there:
From Kilkenny take Kilkenny to Waterford N10 road. Take first turn left 1.6km south of Stoneyford village on the old N10 road (now 713 road). We are located 500 meters down that road. From Thomastown Oldtown Farmhouse is signposted on the N9. Take first turn right just 3.2km south of Thomastown.The house is well signposted on both routes.
